Welcome to St. Joseph’s Hospital – Kitgum School of Nursing and Midwifery, a Private Not-for-Profit Health Professional Training Institution located in Kitgum, Northern Uganda.

The School is attached to St. Joseph’s Hospital Kitgum, its parent hospital, and operates under the ownership of the Board of Trustees of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Gulu. It is also affiliated with the Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau (UCMB).

We are committed to preparing competent, compassionate and professional nurses and midwives who are equipped with the knowledge and practical skills required to serve communities at all levels of health care.

Our Programmes

The School currently offers two Programmes

The Certificate in Nursing programme prepares students with the knowledge and practical competencies required to provide nursing care and support patients across different healthcare settings.

The Certificate in Midwifery programme prepares learners to provide professional maternal and newborn care while promoting the health and wellbeing of mothers, babies and families.

Both programmes run for approximately two and a half years and follow a semester-based academic calendar.
